An introduction to the basic ideas and procedures of library science is given in this course. Students will investigate the functions, administration, and distribution of information, as well as the roles that libraries play in society. Information retrieval, digital library services, classification schemes, and cataloguing are important subjects. The course also addresses the changing function of libraries in the digital era, as well as the moral and legal concerns surrounding information access. Students will acquire a fundamental understanding of how libraries operate and how they support lifelong learning and community participation through lectures, conversations, and practical exercises.
